Embracing the Water Element
Life Without Boundaries and the Journey Within
"He had the uneasy manner of a man who is not among his own kind, and who has not seen enough of the world to feel
that all people are in some sense his own kind."
– Willa Cather
The Winter Journey: Embracing Openness and Change
When we walk in the dream field of Winter we traverse the tapestry of our subconscious realms and of things without names. In doing so we become wanderers in a strange land, travellers going forward into our own unfolding, meeting the great gate of Winter on its own terms. We may lose a paradigm in the cycle of Water, but we may also discover our true home.
The Wanderer’s Spirit: Living the Fool’s Journey
The Winter cycle brings the archetype of the wanderer to our lives, the Fool in the tarot deck, the ever journeying Dr Who, the one who, even in uncertainty, moves with openness, content not knowing where the path will lead.
Releasing Baggage: Lightening the Load
The traveller takes up the mystery, leaves the ordinary behind, abandons the rules, and reawakens our senses in its void. It also asks us to be responsible for the baggage we carry along the way, to jettison the hurt and disappointment as best we can, to release the people and places that cord us to the old versions we once inhabited.
Winter's message is one of openness, change, and adaptation. An endless sky where the horizon is an illusion, and an opportunity to review who we are through the lens of the wanderer who must travel light if they are to order to fully experience this strange land.
Life Beyond Boundaries: The Call of the Unknown
Winter wants us to live without boundaries, like a vast ocean, or the space between the stars. It wants us to live in the intelligence of discomfort and let the whispers of what needs to change swirl around us with no limits on who we are or who we might become.
